The future is wired
With this Ethernet development system incredible applications become feasible. Control your exterior lighting from within your PC LAN, password protected. Get an E-mail from your house, when a waterpipe floods the bathroom, or when the heating furnace has a hickup.
Connect the WebCat to your burglar alarm and that very moment, your alarm is internet wide controllable. Do you need a virtual RS-232 interface over the internet? Search no further: the solution is in the WebCat!
Lacks your refridgerator, microwave oven or washingmachine a webinterface? It may be a bit overdone, but it becomes a reality with the WebCat running NUT/OS.
From now on, get all your new products web-enabled. Just connect them to a WebCat. You will not only save on an expensive LCD display and a human data entry interface, but you gain a fully remotely controlled (and serviced) product that can be reached from all over the world at zero additional cost.
Of course you can upgrade existing products by simply adding a WebCat board. Get aboard the 21st century!

The WebCat development kit is a complete Ethernet development system based on an Atmel ATmega128 RISC processor.
Combined with the integrated RTL 8019AS solid state ethernet controller the WebCat can handle more than you will ever need.
The system is to be programmed 'in circuit' with the aid of the included ISP programmer. The kit also contains a C compiler for NUT/OS and full sources for the ethernet functions.
The NUT/OS development system runs with both Linux and Windows.
The WebCat is fully upward compatible with the Ethernut 1.3F system.
You will get addicted to the possibilities of this board.

NUT/OS is an unusually simple operating system for small embedded applications. It is written with the AVR GCC compiler. The web interface has a very versatile API (applications Programming Interface). Which will significantly set up your ethernet-ready microcontroller projects. Unusually simple, thanks to NUT/OS!
If you want to make new applications, or enhance NUT/OS, you simply get the (included) AVR GCC and get the job done.
The Webcat unit comes with a webserver program in its flash memory and is ready to run. The IP address, gateway address and netmask can be changed on the command line, but the board also listens to DHCP servers. Plug in the power, the RJ-45 and you can rock and roll!
The included CD-ROM contains many ready to run application programs, each of them with full sources.
